In Portuguese social interactions, the level of formality determines which expressions you use. Greetings like 'Olá' and 'Tudo bem?' are informal, while 'Como está?' and 'Muito prazer' are more formal. When introducing someone, you use 'Este é...' for males and 'Esta é...' for females. Farewells range from casual 'Até logo' to the more formal 'Então adeus'.
